| It's very odd, when you think about it.
Mr. Johnson (my roommate) is a political liberal. He loves FDR, he's a Socialist (NOT a Communist), and he basically likes the Progressive movement. I, on the other hand, am so conservative I'm not even a conservative, unless you count agreeing with Britain's form of government to be conservativism. I believe in a constitutional monarchy, though I would probably like to get rid of that stupid Parliament, or at least vastly reduce its power.
Now for the odd part:
Johnson is a religious conservative. He is Eastern Orthodox and can therefore lay claim to believing in the oldest possible ways of Church liturgies--ways of having services over 1700 years old, drawn almost directly from Scripture (not in method, but words) I am a Protestant. Primitive Baptist, yes, but Baptist nonetheless. The early Church Fathers are cool, but in many ways I disagree with them. I am, in a sense, more Progressive (for all that we lay claim to being like the early church).
Weird. You would think we would switch on one or the other with each other and make more sense, instead of just having wildly different views in politics and Christianity. |

| So there have been a few times in memory's grasp that I have logged on to Xanga. But this one time, I decided to actually post. It was pretty thrilling. You should try it sometime, it's almost fun. Then after I posted, I logged off. Good story, huh? |
